Our Classes

Heated Vinyasa

Our Heated Vinyasa classes link mind, body and breath by cultivating strength, discipline, and focused awareness through intentional movement. Asana are skillfully sequenced and intentionally placed in order to increase strength and flexibility while relieving unnecessary tension and inviting a sense of calm, balance and ease. A powerful Vinyasa is one which connects steady effort with the intention of moving towards what is sacred or most important to us, centering on proper alignment and form but leaving room for freedom, fluidity and flow.

Hatha with Sound Healing

This therapeutic practice focuses on cultivating a relationship with our body’s own intuitive intelligence. The frequency of sound is used to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well being - everything in the universe is made up of energy and vibration, and sound can be used to balance and harmonize this energy. It can elicit a sense of calm and peace, and can also energize and awaken those who practice or experience it.

Movements are slow and meditative, combined with pranayama, mantra, and mudra. Space for deep rest is held by the sound of the crystal singing bowls in Savasana - a luxurious mid day reset.

Aligned Strength is a low impact resistance workout rooted in traditional Pilates principles. We focus on strength, flexibility and alignment to tone, tighten and lengthen all major muscle groups in an intelligent and well balanced way. A special emphasis is placed on the deepest core muscles and glutes that normally go untouched. Using small controlled movements, you’ll be targeting those deep, tiny stabilizer muscles that are a large part of a completely strong and balanced body. Props like bands, balls, hand weights, pilates rings and more will be used to add to the intensity. This is a great class to compliment other activities like heavy lifting, yoga and surfing. A practice of receiving, this candlelit evening sound experience is designed to open you up to deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and nourishment for your nervous system. Students will be reclined for the duration of the experience with optional support of props while being bathed in sound. Hydration is recommended after class as well as continued relaxation and rest.

This practice is accessible for everybody and can be especially beneficial for those experiencing overwhelming thought patterns or stress. Please come as you are in comfortable clothing.

Yin

Yin is for anyone interested in the practice of slowing down, softening, letting go, paying attention to nuances, and trusting their body’s intuitive intelligence. We oscillate back and forth between slow movement and longer moments of stillness in asana. At the same time we play with meditative awareness of the bones, fascial pathways, breath, emotions, and our bodies’ relationship to space. This kind of explorative practice often leads to nervous system regulation and the processing of undigested life experience accumulated in the body.

Meditation (free class)

Join Kristin for a 20 minute silent sit.

This will be a time to drop into still and quiet while practicing observing the present moment with awareness and equanimity, or mindfulness.

This practice is offered in the style Insight or Vipassana meditation which Kristin is a student of, but you are welcome to practice any meditation technique you are familiar with as long as silence and sitting is observed.

Insight Meditation is a simple technique which has been adapted from the Vipassanā tradition that has been practiced in Asia for more than 2,600 years. It's purpose is to strengthen mindfulness, which is our capacity to experience "things as they are" directly, without the filter of discursive thinking, evaluation or habitual reactivity. It consists of bringing a natural and clear attention to whatever occurs in the present moment. Beginning with the focusing of attention on the breath, the practice concentrates and calms the mind. It allows us to see through the mind's conditioning and thereby to be more fully present in the moment.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation technique that induces a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. The practice involves lying down in savasana and using mental imagery while remaining aware of breath and body to achieve a deep state of relaxation. Through this technique students can achieve a deep state of relaxation, which may help with stress management, creativity, and cognitive function.
